Habitat Restoration Planning and Stewardship - 2008 Request For Proposals
The NY-NJ Harbor Estuary Program (HEP), in partnership with the New England Interstate Water Pollution Control Commission (NEIWPCC), is releasing a request for proposals (RFP) for two grant programs:
-Program A: Habitat Restoration Planning grants
-Program B: Stewardship grants
A total of approximately $230,000 is available, including $140,000 for Habitat Restoration Planning Grants and $90,000 for Stewardship Grants.
These programs are intended to support the NY-NJ Harbor Estuary Program’s Action Plan by addressing one or more of HEP’s major goals. This year, HEP is seeking to fund one to three substantive projects in each category. The program also gives applicants the option to apply in one or both programs and to link the programs by making the habitat restoration planning project the focus of the stewardship project.
For details on the programs and how to submit a proposal, please refer to HEP’s 2008 RFP (PDF). Applicants may also see the rating criteria for habitat restoration planning (PDF) and stewardship proposals (PDF) to get a sense of how their projects will be evaluated. Full proposals are due by May 16 2008.
The optional informational session for Stewardship Grants will be held on Monday, April 14 from 3 to 4:30 pm at the Urban Center at 457 Madison Avenue (at 51st Street), New York, NY, 10022. During this session you can obtain feedback about the suitability of your project for this grant program.
